Matul il-konferenza tal-aħbarijiet li saret nhar it-12 ta’ Marzu, 2020 kien tħabbar li l-iskejjel, childcare centres, kif ukoll l-istituzzjonijiet edukattivi kollha kienu se jagħlqu temporanjament b’effett mill-għada 13 ta’ Marzu 2020 sal-Ġimgħa 20 ta’ Marzu, 2020 bħala miżura ta’ prekawzjoni kontra t-tixrid tal-COVID-19. Dakinhar kien intqal ukoll li l-Gvern kien se jagħmel pronunzjamenti oħra f’din il-ġimgħa li qegħdin fiha dwar jekk il-perjodu tal-għeluq tal-iskejjel għandux jiġi estiż.

Use of Personal Protective Equipment During Covid-19 Outbreak by WHO

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), caused by the COVID-19 virus, was first detected in Wuhan, China, in December 2019. On 30 January 2020, the World Health Organisation Director-General declared that the current outbreak constituted a public health emergency of international concern. This document summarizes WHO’s recommendations for the rational use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in healthcare and community settings, as well as during the handling of cargo; in this context, PPE includes gloves, medical masks, goggles or a face shield, and gowns, as well as for specific procedures, respirators (i.e., N95 or FFP2 standard or equivalent) and aprons.

New Covid-19 Directives as at 11.03.2020

As has been announced by the Government and the Health Authorities, learners and educators who during the past 14 days have travelled to the indicated countries affected by COVID-19, including Italy (all regions, including Sicily), they need to with immediate effect, self-quarantine at home for 14 days from the day of their return to Malta. Parents/Legal Custodians are reminded that in case that their children show symptoms of fever, cough or sore throat, they should not send their children to school.
