Mgarr Primary School Awarded the eTwinning Schools Award

Mgarr Primary School has just been awarded the eTwinning Schools Award for 2021-2022. Schools are awarded the eTwinning Schools Label when showing evidence of being pioneers and recognised as leaders in the following areas:

  • Digital practice
  • eSafety practice
  • Innovative and creative approaches to pedagogy
  • Promoting the continuous professional development of staff
  • Promoting collaborative learning practices with staff and students

The eTwinning School Award is not only a recognition of the personal success of individual teachers but mostly an acknowledgment of the achievement of the entire eTwinning team in these schools.

eTwinning Online Seminar on Media Literacy and Disinformation

The eTwinning National Support Organisation is pleased to announce the eTwinning Malta Online Seminar for 2021.The Seminar will be hosting educators from various European countries.

Venue: MS TEAMS platform
Date: Saturday 24th April 2021.
Time: 10.00 – 16.00 CET
Target Audience: All educators (including LSEs), from State, Church and Independent Schools
Description: The theme for this year’s Seminar is ‘Media Literacy and Disinformation’. Thus, workshops will not only focus on eTwinning as an innovative pedagogy but also on the integration of Digital Literacy in projects within this theme. One of the sessions will also consist of a networking activity between participants aimed at encouraging registration of new eTwinning Collaborative Projects.

Explore More – Website for Year 8 Students who are currently using choosing their Subject Options

To support Year 8 students with their choice of option subjects, the National School Support Services in collaboration with PRISMS, a non-governmental organisation have together worked on the development and updating of the Explore More – My Journey Portal.  Year 8 students and their parents/guardians can acquire information on the option subjects on offer and the different career paths and post-secondary courses that these subjects can lead to.  The information is presented in an interactive way with short videos outlining all subject options on offer, videos with first-hand testimony from the people who work in the industry and a short quiz which helps students identify the work sector/subjects of their interest. eTwinning & School Education Gateway join forces with a new vision. We are creating a platform that will connect everyone interested in school education and we want your opinion! Take the survey to help us identify topics, services and tools you find important.

EMBED Awards 2020 – Recognition for Schools at St. Nicholas College

Two of our schools at St. Nicholas College – Rabat Primary and Mgarr Primary – have been awarded special recognition during the EMBED awards, organised by the Department of Digital Literacy and Transversal Skills. Well done to our Educators for these fantastic achievements!

Applying For The eTwinning National Quality Label 2019-20

Teachers who have participated in eTwinning projects during the scholastic year 2019 -2020 are invited to apply for the eTwinning National Quality Label.  Outstanding projects will then be eligible for the eTwinning National Awards during the next EMBED ceremony. This year eTwinning will also award best projects initiated or continued during the schools closure period.

eTwinning Webinars for Educators

The Maltese eTwinning National Support Service will be organising a series of webinars for Maltese educators interested in learning about eTwinning and other related online tools. During these webinars we will be exploring the varied tools and resources available in the eTwinning platform. St. Nicholas College Schools Awarded eTwinning Schools Label

Three schools from St. Nicholas College have been awarded the eTwinning School Label. With the eTwinning School Label, eTwinning recognises and appraises the involvement, commitment and dedication not only of individual eTwinners, but of the whole school, where teams of teachers and school leaders work together. eTwinning Malta is inviting all teachers and students from kindergarten to post-secondary to participate in an eTwinning competition for Term 2 – scholastic year 2019-2020. Teachers are invited to create a poster celebrating eTwinning’s 15th Anniversary which will be posted on our newly launched eTwinning Malta website https://www.etwinningmalta.net/.
