Martina Muscat, a former Year 11 student attending St. Nicholas College, Dingli Secondary School, achieved perfect results in her MATSEC Examinations. She obtained passes in the following 11 subjects at SEC Level with Grade 1: Art, English Language, English Literature, Environmental Studies, European Studies, French, Italian, Maltese, Mathematics, Physics and Religious Knowledge and Grade 2 in Social Studies. She is also the recipient of the Dom Maurus Caruana Prize, worth €47.00. St. Nicholas College is currently engaged in the Erasmus + project, Leadership for Change (L2C). This project aims to help schools move away from the traditional vertical leadership model, which proclaims the primacy of the head of school, and to move towards shared leadership, fostering a new culture in schools in which teachers, students and potentially parents willingly take responsibility for leadership in the school community. The Ministry for Education and Employment and the Malta Union of Teachers have felt the need to identify the immediate challenges that educators in the various teaching and administrative grades have to face in the conduct of their roles. Part of the study, which is being carried out by Professor Mark Borg, includes a series of questionnaire surveys with education administrators, Primary schoolteachers, Secondary schoolteachers, LSEs, and KGEs.
The Directorate of Digital Literacy and Transversal Skills invites you to attend an information session /workshop about SELFIE & Digital Citizenship Education on Wednesday, 22nd January, 2020 from 9:00am – 12:30am at the Digital Literacy Centre, Joseph Abela Scolaro Street, Ħamrun. Educators attending this session are encouraged to bring along a copy of their school’s SDP and possibly any SELFIE feedback report the school has in hand.
