Digital Art Competition

The Directorate for Learning and Assessment Programmes would like to invite students from all year groups, at state and non-state schools, to participate in a ‘Digital Art Competition’.

The work submitted for the competition should be based on ONE of the following themes:

  • Animals
  • Movement
  • My home town

Forms of Digital Art may include computer graphics, pixel art, digital photography, digital collage, digital painting, stop motion, and animation.

Teachers teaching at Primary or Secondary level are encouraged to collaborate and guide students’ participation.

All entries should be submitted by not later than Friday 24th March 2023, till 16:00.

Reading Stars / Brillantini tal-Qari

The National Literacy Agency(NLA)is relaunching the initiative ‘Reading Stars / Brillantini tal-Qari’ to promote a love for reading, anytime and anywhere. The aim of this campaign, which is sponsored by Merlin Library, is to present as role models children and adolescents when they read in their free time in public spaces. Schools and educators who would like to nominate Reading Stars are to ensure that parents fill in the consent form that can be found here: https://forms.office.com/e/X6QMWiLNfk

The Reading Stars will be awarded a voucher sponsored by Merlin Library and a letter of achievement by NLA personnel. This will be done when children whose parents have submitted the consent form are spotted reading by NLA personnel. Emails with photos and personal details of children will not be considered and automatically deleted in line with GDPR measures and the rules of this initiative. Creative Writing Award Competition for Middle Schools

Malta Live proudly announces its writing competition for the second year running. This is a creative writing award competition in which all students in Middle Schools in Malta are invited to take part. This year, students are asked to write A STORY, ESSAY, POEM OR PLAY with the following theme in mind: THIS IS ME! The rules for the WRITING AWARD COMPETITION are given hereunder.

To be eligible, entries must be

•original works by the entrant,

•in English,

•works of poetry, prose and / or drama,

•related to the theme: THIS IS ME!
