eTwinning Online Seminar on Media Literacy and Disinformation

The eTwinning National Support Organisation is pleased to announce the eTwinning Malta Online Seminar for 2021.The Seminar will be hosting educators from various European countries.

Venue: MS TEAMS platform
Date: Saturday 24th April 2021.
Time: 10.00 – 16.00 CET
Target Audience: All educators (including LSEs), from State, Church and Independent Schools
Description: The theme for this year’s Seminar is ‘Media Literacy and Disinformation’. Thus, workshops will not only focus on eTwinning as an innovative pedagogy but also on the integration of Digital Literacy in projects within this theme. One of the sessions will also consist of a networking activity between participants aimed at encouraging registration of new eTwinning Collaborative Projects.

Esplora mill-Iskola: Online Sessions for Primary Schools

Esplora Interactive Science Centre is pleased to offer online sessions for Early years and Primary school students. Due to the current pandemic, unfortunately school children cannot visit the Interactive Science Centre physically this year. To overcome this situation and offer an Esplora experience to school children, Esplora is now offering various sessions adapted to be held online with schools through Microsoft Teams or Zoom.

Esplora mill-iskola sessions will be offered free of charge and upon confirmation through booking. These are offered on a first come first served basis for all schools on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Moreover, they are age-appropriate and with an approximate duration of 30 mins. Educators can refer to the information below, to be able to place a booking: esplora.org.mt.

Primary Science Webinars

The Directorate for Learning and Assessment Programmes is launching a series of Primary Science webinars for parents/guardians of students in the primary years. The aim of the Primary Science webinars is to:


• Provide an overview of Primary Science across the primary years.
• Highlight the importance of promoting Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) from an early age.
• Address key areas vis-à-vis Primary Science, specific to the age category.
• Provide exemplars of doing inquiry-based Science in the primary using everyday resources.

Details of the Primary Science webinars can be accessed on the Primary Science website.
Participation in these educational webinars is on a voluntary basis. Interested applicants are kindly requested to register their participation through the following LINK. Registration will be open until a day before the date of each particular webinar.

Series 2 has weekly webinars and seminars which focus on topics that educators face in their day-today realities of schools, and particularly during this time. Webinar for Educators – Transforming Education for the 21st Century

Why does education need to embrace transformation? What is the relevance of education to industry, and how can education handle the increasingly rapid rate of technological change?

These are just some of the questions that will be explored by thought leaders and stakeholders from PwC, Microsoft, MEDE, the National Skills Council, other social partners and industry representatives. The event is targeted towards the education institutions and educators across both private and public learning organisations, and all participants will be actively involved in the discussions through highly interactive surveys and QA sessions. The webinar will provide exposure to technology complemented by practitioner best practice in the field of education. Given the knowledge sharing potential and technical nature of this session, the event will contribute 120 mins of continuous professional development (CPD) time to all educators.

The webinar is going to be on Wednesday 27th May, 10am to 11.30am. The focus of this webinar is going to be on the creation of a staffroom, organising online staff meetings, communication with parents, sharing files with staff using Teams and One Drive and also on the creation and sharing of Forms. Online Support and Webinars for Middle/Secondary Teachers by the Digital Literacy Directorate

The Digital Literacy support staff are also continuously assisting educators through various school channels. Further to this the DDLTS is also going to continue delivering webinars and Live discussion chats.
