Quarantine Leave – Information From the Office of the Prime Minister 01/2020

P&SD Circular No. 01/2020 

Further to instructions issued by the Ministry for Health (MFH), employees in government departments and entities who have visited any of the countries affected by the Corona Virus are required to remain at home for 14 days from the date that they left from the country they visited. To date, the affected countries are China (including Hong Kong), Singapore, South Korea, Iran, and Northern Italy. Whenever possible, management shall ensure that the necessary arrangements are made so that employees on quarantine leave continue working from home.

Coronavirus and Travel: Information from the Malta International Airport

The outbreak of COVID-19 has now spread to various countries. At this point, there are no COVID- 19 cases in Malta. In view of the current situation, the Health Authorities are expanding their surveillance to cover a wider area of travel to affected areas.

Coronavirus Update: Persons who travelled to one of the effected countries

In lieu of the recent Coronavirus Outbreak in neighbouring countries, The Ministry for Education and the Ministry of Health have issued a set of guidelines for those students/educators/staff that have recently returned from one of the effected countries. The persons who have recently travelled to the countries listed below are asked to stay at home for 14 days and if they develop symptoms of fever, cough or shortness of breath, they need to phone the Disease Prevention and Control Unit (IDCU) within the Superintendence of Public Health, Ministry for Health on Tel. no 21324086 and the unit will guide them accordingly. The countries are: China, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Iran, Italy (Emilia-Romagna, Lombardy, Piedmont, Veneto, ie. all the north of Italy above Tuscany).
