Applications for National Sport School for students born in 2009

The National Sport School will receive applications from students who as from next scholastic year wish to pursue their academic studies as well as train in the sport they excel in. All male and female students from Malta and Gozo, born in 2009, who will successfully complete their sixth year at Primary School and who are deemed talented and highly promising in their field of sport by coaches within their respective National Sport Association, are eligible to apply for entrance into the National Sport School. Leadership for Change – Policy Meeting 2019 (Malta)

The first Leadership for Change Policy Meeting was held at Xara Palace, Rabat, Malta, on the 5th of December 2019. The aim of the meeting was to promote our project with all the schools within our college, as well as subject Educational Officers who would be be able to disseminate the information amongst all schools in Malta and Gozo.

Leadership for Change – Partners’ Workshop 2019

On the 27th of November, 2019, the educators participating in the Erasmus+ Project, Leadership for Change, met for the second annual workshop at Rabat Middle School, Malta. The cohort consisted of Senior Leadership Team members from three schools at St.Nicholas College: Attard Primary School, Rabat Middle School and Dingli Secondary School. The meeting followed a busy year full of activities, most notably, the school exchange visits and participation in the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) available to project partners from Malta, Belgium, Spain, Portugal and Italy. Attending the workshop was also Ms. Alex Licht, on behalf of the leading partners, European Schoolnet.

Dingli Primary School go GREEN for San Martin

St Martin’s feast, which is commemorated on 11th November, is  full of traditions. One tradition is to give children a bag full of assorted nuts and fruits. This year, the EkoSkola committee at Dingli Primary, decided to start using cloth bags instead of plastic or paper bags. These cloth bags are made of reused material and were sewn by the Ladies Group in Dingli. Those students who returned the cloth bags to school were refunded €1. The cloth bags were collected to be used again next year. Continue reading

Dingli Primary School: Turtle Release & Clean up activity at Gnejna Bay

On 31st October 2019, eight EkoSkola members from Dingli Primary School witnessed the release of Janis, the twelve-year-old loggerhead turtle that had been found entangled in marine debris during last February’s storm. The turtle was released back into the sea at Ġnejna Bay. Continue reading

School Exchange Meeting: Rabat Middle School Teachers visit Dingli Secondary School

Monday 28th of October marked the second School Exchange Visit for Erasmus – Leadership for Change Project, which is a college-wide initiative in collaboration with European Schoolnet (Brussels), as well as schools from Portugal, Italy, Flanders, and Castilla y León.

Coding Activities at St.Nicholas College Malta

EU Code Week is a grass-roots movement that celebrates creativity, problem solving and collaboration through programming and other tech activities. The idea is to make programming more visible, to show young, adults and elderly how you bring ideas to life with code, to demystify these skills and bring motivated people together to learn.

This year, Malta placed first amongst European Countries, by creating 500+ coding activities in their classrooms. Click on the video below to see some of the work done by St.Nicholas College educators and students !
