Following the success of webinars for Middle and Secondary schools, where over 1000 educators were trained, the Directorate for Digital Literacy and Transversal Skills (DDLTS) are going to temporarily leave the online Teams open for support. The Digital Literacy support staff are also continuously assisting educators through various school channels. The Digital Literacy Team (Primary) published the website Teacher Idea, aimed at Primary School Educators and Students. The website is constantly updated with teaching idea ‘cards’ which can be downloaded and used with students as activity starters. The Institute for Education is accepting applications from parents/guardians interested in following online Parental/Guardian Sessions commencing April – June 2020. These sessions are delivered in two different formats: asynchronous (self-paced)or synchronous (live). The Institute acknowledges the crucial role parents and guardians are playing in the education of their children during this time when schools are closed. This exercise in this particular moment should only involve the collection of material necessary for learning and not other things.
