Thematic STEM Debate

The Science Centre (Pembroke) within the Directorate for Learning and Assessment Programmes is launching the 3rd edition of the Thematic STEM Debate which has been extended to the Primary Sector. The aim of this initiative is to engage students to become active critical thinkers and skilled debaters. Through active participation in the debate, students will:


• Examine ideas, reports, audio-visual material and policies;
• Verify the value of evidence for concepts;
• Recognize strengths and weaknesses of arguments;
• Engage with opposing views and speak strategically.

Reading for Pleasure Programmes

For the upcoming scholastic year (2021-2022), the National Literacy Agency, within the Ministry for Education will be organising the reading for pleasure programmes ‘Magic of Stories / Seħer l-Istejjer’ and ‘The Pleasure of Reading / Gost il-Qari’. These sessions will be held in-person in schools. ‘Magic of Stories / Seħer l-Istejjer’ is specifically designed and intended for children in kindergarten and the first two years of primary whilst ‘The Pleasure of Reading / Gost il-Qari’ is intended for primary classes from Year 3 up to Year 6.

OTPC Tablet Training 2021/2022

The Directorate for Digital Literacy and Transversal Skills will be delivering an online tablet training course for new Year 4 – 6 educators, during this scholastic Year 2021/22. Interested educators should apply via https://bit.ly/OTPCTabletTraining. Those educators who are going to attend the morning sessions should download the approval form from this link https://bit.ly/OTPCTabletTApproval and upload it in the application once it is filled in by the Head of School. NQTs do need not apply since they already attended this training.
