Sharing of Good Practice: Dingli Primary School Educators share their Erasmus+ experience with their colleagues during a whole-school COPE session

Educators from Dingli Primary School had the opportunity to share their Erasmus+ Mobility experience with their fellow educators during a COPE session organised by the school.

Ms Dorianne and Ms Kim attended a course in Vukovar, Croatia, titled ‘Play and Learn – Digital Tools for the 21st Century’. Dingli Primary School Students Participate in Erasmus+ Pupil Mobility in Bari

All the educators participating in the COPE session enjoyed learning about the school’s Erasmus+ Experience and learned more about European-Wide Collaboration. During the Summer, two additional members of staff – Ms Elizabeth Galea, Head of School and Ms Annemarie Camilleri, Assistant Head of School – will be attending an Erasmus+ Course for Principals; they will also have the opportunity to share their experience upon their return.

Sharing of Good Practice – Erasmus+ Opportunities for Educators at Rabat Primary School

Educators from St Nicholas College, Rabat Primary School were invited to share their Erasmus+ Mobility experiences during the monthly Council of Heads Meeting. Eight heads of school from our College, the Head of College Network, Education Officer for Curriculum and the College Support Officer attended the presentations.

Ms Bertagna, Ms Doreen and Ms Suzanne shared their participation in an Erasmus+ Job Shadowing Mobility in Dublin (more information about this mobility can be found at: Erasmus+ Job Shadowing Experience in Dublin.

Ms Marica, on the other hand, accompanied a group of 3 Primary School Students at a co-ed school, also in Dublin.

Ms Kirsten and Ms Noemi had the opportunity to participate in an Erasmus+ Course in Barcelona, offered by the Europass Academy of Creativity – Barcelona. The Course – Classroom Management Solutions for Teachers: New Methodologies, Effective Motivation, Cooperation and Evaluation Strategies – provided engaging activities that allowed participants to learn how to boost motivation, establish classroom rules, provide clear instructions, monitor, develop rapport, incorporate pair and group work, and gain tips for encouraging students to reflect on their own classroom behavior.

Erasmus + Sharing of Good Practice During Council of Heads Meeting – April 2024

Teachers, Students & SLT from SNC Mgarr Primary School have recently attended two different mobilities thanks to St. Nicholas College Office of the College Principal – Malta Erasmus+ Accreditation Funds. Teachers, together with their pupils participated in an Erasmus+ exchange in Krakow, Poland, and SLT participated in a Job Shadowing exchange in Ljublijana, Slovenia. The participants gave a presentation during the monthly CoH in order to share their experience will all the College Heads of School, the Head of College Network and the EO Curriculum.

Dingli Primary School Students participate in Erasmus+ Pupil Mobility in Bari

Last month, a group of six students together with their teachers – Ms Jade and Ms Stephanie – embarked on a three day Erasmus+ Pupil mobility in Bari, Italy. The students were welcomed at the Istituto Margherita, and were able to interact with their fellow Italian students, and participate in both classroom and extra-curricular activities.

The school was able to include our students in activities related to Digital Literacy and Robotics – which are the cornerstone of our Erasmus+ Accreditation objectives. Other activities included Music and Drama lessons and a treasure hunt – with a tasty focaccia at the end of the activity for all the participants.

In their free time, our students were also able to visit San Nicola di Bari, who is the patron saint of the town. They also visited the cathedral and the beach.

The participants shared their educational journey with their students in Malta by holding a morning assembly via TEAMS whilst they were still in Bari. Their educators will also be sharing the experience during the College’s Council of Heads in June.

Dingli Primary School Students share details about their upcoming Erasmus+ Pupil Mobility in Bari

On the 12th of April, during our assembly, six students and two teachers shared exciting details about their upcoming Erasmus Student mobility trip to Bari. This adventure kicks off from the 15th to the 19th of April. We were honoured to have Ms. Josephine Mifsud, our Head of College Network, present on the same day. She extended her well wishes and words of encouragement to the travelers, wishing them the best of luck on their journey!

Rabat Primary School Educators take part in an Erasmus+ Job Shadowing experience in Dublin

Ms Doreen Vella Galea, Ms Bertagna Ali Hassan Paris, & Ms Suzanne Aquilina from St Nicholas College Rabat Primary school, embarked on an Erasmus journey to Dublin on 4th March 2024 where they spent a week Job Shadowing, exploring, and discovering how different schools in Dublin go about their academics.

Mgarr Primary School Students Visit Poland on an Erasmus+ Pupil Mobility Exchange

Year 5 students from St. Nicholas College Mgarr Primary School were welcomed in Szkola Podstawowa nr52 in Krakow Poland as part of an Erasmus Project. Through different activities workshops and sessions, students reached different learning outcomes of this project.

Students used a comparative learning method when they studied Malta and Poland as two different countries. Through comparing and contrasting the cultures and histories of Malta and Poland, students gained a greater understanding of the diverse and unique characteristics that make each country distinct in the European Landscape. Students became more aware of different cultures and expressions. Grabbing a deeper understanding of Krakow legends helped inspire critical thinking and analytical skills as they examined the origins and themes within the legends. Our year 5 students immersed themselves in local cultural events while preparing traditional dishes with the locals. They gained a deeper understanding of how traditions shape the identity of their people. Students engaged with the locals and participated in traditional activities to gain a better understanding of the unique cultural traditions and ways of life in rural Poland. All of the workshops and activities were documented in journals, PowerPoint presentations, documentation, photos and videos.

SNC Dingli Primary School Educators attend Erasmus+ Course in Croatia

Two educators from St Nicholas College, Dingli Primary School, attended the course ‘Play and Learn – Digital Education for the 21st Century’. in Vukovar – Croatia. The main aim of the course was to foster excellence in education by empowering educators to integrate ICT tools into their teaching. Ms Dorianne Gauci and Ms Kim Mamo represented Malta during this course. The participants gained knowledge in the effective use of various ICT tools for creating quizzes, picture books, posters and a variety of other tools for engaging the students’ motivation.

The results were shared during the St Nicholas College Council of Heads, and will be showcased during an Erasmus+ Conference to be organised by the College later this year.
