We would like to sincerely thank all schools and educators who are doing excellent work online. Educators who may still be experiencing difficulty in contacting their students online are to liaise with their school or use the support and helpline offered at digitalliteracy.skola.edu.mt. Educational resources are also available at http://www.curriculum.gov.mt.
In the case of year groups which usually have annual exams, progression will take place as follows:
Year 4: Students in Year 4 will move to the next year in the same class group as set by the Head of School. Changes in groupings may be made by the Head of School for the educational benefit of students.
Year 5: Students in Year 5 will move to the next year in the same class group as set by the Head of School. Changes in groupings may be made by the Head of School for the educational benefit of students.
Year 6: Year 6 students will progress to Year 7. Schools using a track or banding system in Year 7 may use the Year 6 half yearly assessment marks and Year 5 annual marks as a guide following a calibration exercise carried out by the Head of College Network (HCN) to ensure a consistent approach among primary schools within each college network. The Educational Assessment Unit (EAU) will support HCNs and Heads of School in this process.
Year 7: Year 7 students will progress to Year 8 and will remain within the same track. Changes in grouping of tracks may be made by the Head of School for the educational benefit of students.
Year 8: Year 8 students will progress to Year 9 and will remain as much as possible within the same track but considering the option subjects that the students have chosen. Changes in grouping of tracks may be made by the Head of School for the educational benefit of students.
Year 9: Year 9 students will progress to Year 10 and will remain within the same track. Changes in groupings of tracks may be made by the Head of School for the educational benefit of students.
