This October, EU Code Week will again help transform lives by making digital skills and innovation come to life for citizens across Europe and beyond. From the 5th to the 20th October, schools, non-profits, coding clubs, and other organisations are invited to host activities centered on coding and computational thinking. Participants are invited to organise an activity, sign up via the EU Code Week website, and spread the word amongst their networks.
Now in its 7th year, EU Code Week started as a grass-roots initiative that celebrates creativity, problem solving, and collaboration through coding and other tech activities for people of all ages. This year, a special focus is being placed on school participation, and teachers of all levels and subjects are invited to join the movement by organising activities with their students within the framework of EU Code Week.
Teachers are encouraged to give their students a first look into the world of coding and inspire students to further involvement by incorporating hands-on activities and lessons in their classrooms, whether on- or off-line. In order to support as many students as possible in their creative journeys to coding, Code Week organisers are also invited to participate in the Code Week 4 All challenge. Organisers can link up with other teachers and organisations throughout their networks by using a unique code received during the registration process. The partners within their networks can then use the same code to register activities of their own.
A Certificate of Excellence can be achieved for those who achieve the most influential participation and include at least ten activities, 500 students, or three countries within their circles. Don’t miss out on this year’s exciting opportunities – learn more about how to participate in EU Code Week, access resources for learning and teaching how to code, and find out how to organise an activity by visiting http://codeweek.eu/.
