The Science Centre (Pembroke), within the Directorate for Learning and Assessment Programmes, is organising the ninth edition of the Science Safari. This edition will be held online via Microsoft Teams, on Saturday 26th March 2022. The event programme is can be dowloaded here:
This initiative targets Year 8 students and will involve them in an exciting virtual treasure hunt with the theme ‘Science Safari – STEM around us’. Indeed, students can participate from the comfort of their home as long as they have access to Microsoft Teams. The questions and clues will focus on scientific knowledge, skills and competences, related to everyday contexts.
While parents and guardians are responsible for event participation on the day, Integrated Science teachers are kindly asked to promote this activity with Year 8 Integrated Science students and to register their teams’ participation.
Teachers are kindly requested to compile and submit the registration form by accessing the link https://forms.office.com/r/deKi8gp4nm by Friday 25th February 2022. Each school can register a maximum of ten teams, comprising three students each. All registered participants will receive a link by Wednesday 23rd March 2022. This link will be used to join the activity on Saturday 26th March 2022.
The prizes for the three winning teams will include a Science Kit for each student within each team. A selection of books, sponsored by HSBC Malta Foundation will also be presented to the three winning schools.
